Dead
Mileage

A game about getting somewhere alive. Drive a terrible car through monster country, kill them for cash, trade up, and make it to Haven. Coming next: a mountain road, a flooded river, a frozen sea and a convoy.

Pick your road

One road open, four more on the way

Dead Mileage is out, free, and starts the moment you open it. Four more games are growing out of it, sharing its garage full of guns and its wasteland full of monsters, each with its own way of trying to kill you. They're still in development; each gets its own address here when it's ready.

The mountain road

Switchback

One long road over the mountains: ledges with a long drop on one side, cloud forest, snow, stone bridges and tunnels, and towns on the shelves between. Ram a monster off the lip and it counts. Crawlers come up out of the gorge, and the rock sheds stones onto the road.

  • Ledges and rockfall
  • Towns and traffic
  • Tunnels and bridges

The flooded river

River Run

Pilot a leaky skiff 16 km down a flooded valley. The current carries you, weirs throw you off the lip, snags foul the propeller and wind shoves you at the banks. Pull survivors from the water, salvage, and save up for a real gunboat at the docks between the legs of the river.

  • Current and weirs
  • Wind and weather
  • From skiff to gunboat

The frozen sea

Black Ice

An ice road across a frozen sea in the polar night, to the harbour at Nordhaven. White ice is thick, black ice is thin, and a bigger rig is a heavier one: stop where the sheet is weak and you go through. Behind you, the whole sheet is breaking up.

  • Your weight breaks the ice
  • A break-up front behind you
  • Polar night

The convoy

Danger Close

A truck column is driving 24 km through what the war left, and it only moves with you beside it. Escort it through minefields, keep it alive, and call a battery of 155s down on anything. The shells don't check whose side you're on.

  • Escort the column
  • Fire missions
  • Minefields

Your progress stays in your own browser. There's nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.

  • FreeNo price, no ads, no microtransactions. The only money is the cash you scrape off monsters.
  • In your browserOn a desktop, a laptop, or a phone or tablet held sideways. Keyboard, gamepad or touch.
  • No downloadNothing to install or update. The latest version is the one you open.
  • No accountNo sign-up, no name. On the daily road you're just a driver number.

The daily road

How far the dead got

Every day there's one road, one vehicle and one set of rules for everyone. When a run ends in death, the wreck stays on that road for every other driver to find. These are the furthest of them.

Today's challenge

    Drive this road
    –deaths
    –drivers

    Furthest before it got them

    1. Loading the road…

    Most kills

    1.

From the daily challenge in Dead Mileage. Days change at midnight UTC. A run that reaches Haven leaves no wreck behind, so it isn't on this board: if you made it, you know.

Dead Mileage has a home of its own

Dead Mileage now lives at deadmileage.io: free, in your browser, no download, and your progress comes with you. Four more games are on the way.

Your wreck stays on the road

The daily road now remembers who died on it. Find other drivers' wrecks, strip them for parts, watch their last seconds and read the warnings they left.

    Good to know

What do I need to play?

A recent browser with WebGL 2: Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. The graphics adjust to your device by themselves, and you can change them in Settings. If a game runs slowly, check that hardware acceleration is turned on in your browser's settings. On a phone or tablet, hold it sideways for the touch controls.

    Where is my progress saved?

In your browser, for each game separately. Nothing is stored anywhere else, so it stays on the device you played on. Clearing your browser's data for a game's address clears its save too.

I played on deadmileage.liquidmultiverse.com. Is my progress gone?

No. Open that old address once in the same browser and it brings your progress along to original.deadmileage.io. Achievement screenshots stay behind; the achievements themselves come with you.

What gets sent from my browser?

Only from Dead Mileage itself. When a daily run ends in death: where your wreck lies, its last 12 seconds of driving, your vehicle, kills and time, and an anonymous driver number. And an anonymous summary of each finished run (difficulty, distance, what killed you), which helps balance the game and can be turned off in Settings. No account, no name, and addresses aren't stored.

Does it cost anything, now or later?

No. Every game here is free, without ads and without anything to buy.
